Samsung Galaxy Y Touch Screen Replacement

This guide covers replacing the Samsung Galaxy Y's touchscreen and LCD display, in case the touchscreen is cracked or the LCD malfunctions, resulting in a black screen.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Use the blue plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back panel away from the device.

Step 2 | Touch Screen/Display

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the four 5mm screws from the interior back panel's corner.

  • Remove the screws completely, then set aside the interior back panel.
  • Take out the SD card by sliding it out of its slot.

Avoid using a metal spudger, as it can cause further damage.

  • Use the metal pry tool to separate the interior back panel from the hardware and screen.

  • Remove the motherboard connection with the orange wire.
  • Take out all interior components from the front screen display.
