Samsung Galaxy Y Motherboard Replacement

This guide explains the process of replacing the motherboard in a Samsung Galaxy Y smartphone.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Use the blue plastic opening tool to carefully pry off the back panel.

  • Remove four 5mm screws from the interior back panel using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  • Slide the SD card out of its slot.

Insert metal pry tool between back panel and hardware/screen.

  • Gently pry apart components while supporting adjacent parts with fingers or soft material.

  • Disconnect the motherboard connection marked with an orange color-coding.
  • Remove the interior hardware components from the front screen display.

  • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the five 2mm screws from the corner of the silver protective panel.
  • If the motherboard is cracked or damaged, replace it with a new one.
