Samsung Galaxy Y LCD Display Replacement

This repair guide will explain and illustrate how to replace a faulty LCD display on a Samsung Galaxy Y, including scenarios where the screen is corrupt or non-responsive.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Use the blue plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back panel away from the device.

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the four 5mm screws in the interior back panel's corner.

  • Remove the SD card by sliding it out of its slot.

Separate the interior back panel from the interior hardware and screen using a metal pry tool.

Disconnect the orange motherboard connection.

  • Remove the interior hardware from the front screen display.

Use a pair of tweezers and a metal pry tool to gently remove the LCD screen lens from the outer screen.

  • If the LCD is glued, heat the device before proceeding.
  • Replace the faulty LCD.
