Samsung Galaxy Y LCD Display Replacement
This repair guide will explain and illustrate how to replace a faulty LCD display on a Samsung Galaxy Y, including scenarios where the screen is corrupt or non-responsive.
Step 1 | Back Panel
Use the blue plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back panel away from the device.
Step 2 | LCD Display
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the four 5mm screws in the interior back panel's corner.
- Remove the SD card by sliding it out of its slot.
Step 3
Separate the interior back panel from the interior hardware and screen using a metal pry tool.
Step 4
Disconnect the orange motherboard connection.
- Remove the interior hardware from the front screen display.
Step 5
Use a pair of tweezers and a metal pry tool to gently remove the LCD screen lens from the outer screen.
- If the LCD is glued, heat the device before proceeding.
- Replace the faulty LCD.
