Samsung Galaxy Y Charging port and headphone jack Replacement

Use the blue plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back-panel away from the device.

Step 2 | Charging port and headphone jack

Apply a PH000 screwdriver and remove the four 5mm screws at the back panel corners.

  • Slide the SD card out of its slot to detach.

Insert metal pry tool between interior back panel and interior hardware/screen, carefully prying them apart.

Disconnect the motherboard connection, identified by its orange color.

  • Remove all interior hardware attached to the front screen display.

Remove the five 2mm screws located in the corner of the silver protective panel using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Check the motherboard for cracks or damage before proceeding.
  • If damaged, replace with a new motherboard.

Risk of injury from hot metal parts.

  • Desolder the charging port connection.
  • Desolder the headphone jack connection.

Wait for the metal to cool down before handling.
