Samsung Galaxy Xcover GT-S5690 LCD Replacement
Forcing a damaged LCD can lead to further damage or injury. Replace it with an original or compatible one.
- Power off and unplug your device from the power source.
- Remove the SIM card and SD cards by sliding out the tray with a paper clip.
- Use a plastic spudger to carefully pry open the phone's rear casing, starting at the top edge.
Step 1 | LCD
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover has a faulty LCD display and requires replacement.
Step 2
Open the battery door by starting at the bottom and releasing the latch along the sides.
Make sure the security lock is in the open position before proceeding.
Step 3
Use a flat screwdriver to carefully pry out the volume button and power button.
- Next, switch to a Phillips Screwdriver and remove all the screws from the backcover.
Step 4
Use a flat screwdriver or plastic opener to carefully pry apart the front and rear cases.
Step 5
Be careful below the LCD flex cable.
- Remove the screw on the lower zone of the main board, same as case screws.
- Unplug the camera and front speaker with a pair of pliers.
- Lift the main board.
Step 6
- Disconnect the LCD flat cable.
- Remove the 2 screws on either side of the front cover.
- Separate the front cover from the main chassis, exposing only the display and touch components.
Ensure you remove the correct screws to avoid damaging the chassis or display.
Step 7
Remove the black retainer from its position.
- Disconnect the touch flex cable.
Be careful not to damage the double-sided tape under the IC.
Lift the LCD unit using a knife or cutter, handling with care.
- Install the new LCD unit.
- Reassemble the phone in reverse order.
