Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Rear Camera Replacement

Replace the Rear Camera on your Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro (SM-6715U).

  • Determine if a software issue is causing problems instead of replacing the camera.
  • If the issue persists, proceed with replacement:
    • Ensure device is powered off and battery removed before screen removal.
    • Reassemble all parts after repair and test rear camera functionality.

Step 1 | Screen

Apply heat to the screen using a heat gun or a hair dryer on maximum setting.

  • Focusing on the edges, heat until the glue melts.

Insert picks around the screen's edge as wedges.

A suction cup can also be used for assistance during separation.

The picks will aid in prying the screen off, allowing it to separate from the casing.

Release the black clip covering the motherboard and screen cable connectors.

Disconnect the screen ribbon by pulling gently with a spudger or tweezers.

  • Pull away from the device until the ribbon is completely dislodged.

Step 5 | Motherboard

Disconnect the ribbon cable that connects the charging port board to the motherboard.

  • Remove the 14 4mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  • Use an opening tool to remove the backplate.

Use an opening tool to disconnect the red and blue wires from the motherboard.

  • Release the headphone jack cable from the motherboard.
  • Disconnect the side button ribbon cable attached to the motherboard.

Remove the two 2.4mm screws from the motherboard using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

  • Use an opening tool to carefully pry out the motherboard.
  • Alternatively, use your finger to gently rock the motherboard loose.

Step 9 | Rear Camera

Disconnect all ribbon cables connected to the rear camera on the motherboard.

  • Pull the camera module out from the back side of the motherboard.
