Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Motherboard Replacement

Step 1 | Screen

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer (high setting) to gently heat the screen.

  • Focus on the edges of the screen, where the glue is located.
  • Melt the adhesive to loosen its grip.

Insert picks around the barrier of the screen as wedges.

Use a suction cup if needed to separate the screen from the casing.

The screen will begin to pry off with the picks inserted.

Unclip the black tab to access the motherboard and screen ribbon cables.

Disconnect the screen ribbon using a spudger or tweezers.

Step 5 | Motherboard

  • Disconnect the ribbon cable linking the charging port board to the motherboard.

  • Remove the 14 x 4mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
  • Use an opening tool to carefully remove the backplate.

Remove any clips securing the wire harness to the case.

  • Use an opening tool to disconnect the red and blue wires from the motherboard.
  • Disconnect the headphone jack ribbon cable and side button ribbon cable both connected to the motherboard.

Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two 2.4 mm screws.

  • Remove the motherboard using either an opening tool or your finger.
