Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Motherboard Replacement
Step 1 | Screen
Use a heat gun or a hair dryer (high setting) to gently heat the screen.
- Focus on the edges of the screen, where the glue is located.
- Melt the adhesive to loosen its grip.
Step 2
Insert picks around the barrier of the screen as wedges.
Use a suction cup if needed to separate the screen from the casing.
The screen will begin to pry off with the picks inserted.
Step 3
Unclip the black tab to access the motherboard and screen ribbon cables.
Step 4
Disconnect the screen ribbon using a spudger or tweezers.
Step 5 | Motherboard
- Disconnect the ribbon cable linking the charging port board to the motherboard.
Step 6
- Remove the 14 x 4mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
- Use an opening tool to carefully remove the backplate.
Step 7
Remove any clips securing the wire harness to the case.
- Use an opening tool to disconnect the red and blue wires from the motherboard.
- Disconnect the headphone jack ribbon cable and side button ribbon cable both connected to the motherboard.
Step 8
Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two 2.4 mm screws.
- Remove the motherboard using either an opening tool or your finger.
