Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Charging Port Board Replacement
Replace the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro (SM-G715U) charging port if it's faulty.
- Check for simpler issues like a faulty cable, adapter, or overheating before proceeding.
- Power off the device and remove the back cover and battery.
- Work carefully to avoid damaging internal components.
- Replace the charging port with a new one if necessary.
- Reconnect everything securely, reinsert the battery, and reassemble the phone.
- Test charging functions.
- If problems persist, the issue may be within the motherboard or power circuit and require professional repair.
Step 1 | Screen
Use a heat gun or a hair dryer on high to heat the screen.
- Focusing on the edges, apply heat until the glue melts and the screen is loose.
Step 2
Insert picks around the screen's barrier as wedges.
- The picks will help pull the screen off.
- A suction cup can be used to assist with separation.
Step 3
Remove the black clip covering the motherboard and screen ribbon cables.
Step 4
Disconnect the screen's ribbon cable using a spudger or tweezers.
Step 5 | Charging Port Board
Disconnect the ribbon cable between the charging port board at the bottom and the motherboard at the top.
Step 6
- Remove the fourteen 4 mm screws using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
- Use an opening tool to carefully remove the backplate.
Step 7
- Disconnect all wires from the charging port board.
- Note wire colors: red and blue wires must reconnect to their original ports.
Step 8
Remove the 2.4mm screw using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- Disconnect the two wires clipped to the board.
- Take out the charging port board.
