Step 1 | remove battery and backcover

Use a spudger to carefully pry off the back cover.

  • Remove the battery.

Risk of damage from excessive heat or improper application.

  • Heat the screen with a heat gun or hairdryer, keeping it 15 cm away, and moving it up and down for 2 minutes.
  • Check if the adhesive is loosening; if not, repeat this step.
  • Using a spudger, carefully slide it under the digitizer, being cautious of the LCD screen.
  • Insert a credit card or similar tool between the adhesive and digitizer to further loosen the adhesive.
  • If necessary, reapply heat for an additional 2 minutes before continuing.

Remove the digitizer. The flex cable may be secured at a 90-degree angle, accessible for cutting.

  • Carefully cut the flex cable using pliers to release it from its mounting.
  • The digitizer is now loose and can be removed.

Avoid overheating, which may damage components.

  • Apply heat to the Phone's LCD area to loosen adhesive.
  • Also, apply heat to the Phone's rear section.

Careful not to apply excessive pressure when inserting the spudger beneath the screen.

  • Position the spudger under the edge of the screen and gently pry it loose.
  • Take your time and maintain a controlled, gentle motion to avoid damaging surrounding components.

Rotate the LCD to a 90-degree angle, as shown in Picture 1.

  • Remove the plastic lid by unscrewing its tiny screw.
  • Using a spudger, carefully remove the flex cable underneath the lid.

Be careful not to damage nearby components.

  • Use a spudger to pry open the lid of the connector where the digitizer cable was previously cut.
  • Remove the remaining length of the digitizer cable from the board at the LCD screen.

Remove the old digitizer. Use a spudger to gently pry off the plastic/rubber buttons, taking care to remove the adhesive completely.

  • Peel off the adhesive using the spudger.
  • The buttons should come off with the adhesive.

Connect the new digitizer using the buttons provided.

  • Attach the f lex cable to the LCD screen board.
  • Reconnect the flex cable to the Phone's motherboard.

Ensure the digitizer is seated correctly over the LCD screen.
