The Galaxy W (also known as the Exhibit II) digitizer replacement was a relatively straightforward process, despite initial difficulties finding a suitable replacement screen due to inconsistent naming conventions.
Phone repair complete, shown below.
Remove the battery cover, then take out the battery.
Be cautious not to damage the adhesive or clips.
Remove eight screws: six from the rear and two from the top.
Start by inserting a flat head screwdriver into the small gap at the bottom edge of the phone.
Disconnect the battery by inserting a small flat head screwdriver into the gap around the battery's plastic rim.
Careful when handling the connectors.
Be prepared for a bit of force to separate the chassis from the phone's front.
If your LCD is stuck to the front of the phone (or chassis), you may need to carefully pry it loose.
The microphone board is located within the yellow rectangle; remove it to access the digitizer for replacement.
Take care not to damage the surrounding components.
The LCD is indicated by the blue rectangle.
Remove the blue tape covering the digitizer connector.
Work carefully along the edges of the LCD to avoid damaging it.
The digitizer remains attached to the front of the phone.
Make sure to secure the small rubber component before reassembling.
Incorrect assembly may cause issues or damage to the device.
