Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini Display Assembly Replacement

Broken display assembly may require replacement.

  • Disassemble the phone to access the display assembly.
  • Remove and replace the display assembly without frame.

Remove the battery, SIM, and memory card.

  • Switch off the Samsung Galaxy S III mini / i8190.
  • Wait for a few seconds to discharge any residual power.

Remove 10 Phillips screws.

  • Use a plastic tool to carefully pry off the Middle frame.

Disconnect the menu buttons flex cable

Remove the micro SD card reader flex cable

  • Lift up the motherboard from the right edge, but do not remove it.
  • Gently unstick the earpiece and main camera from the display frame.
  • Be careful not to break any flex cables.

Locate and disconnect the LCD Display flex cable on the underside of the board.

  • Disconnect the front camera module.
  • Remove the main/rear camera assembly.
  • Disconnect the earpiece speaker connector.
  • Disconnect the loudspeaker connector.
  • Disconnect the vibro motor wires.
  • Remove the micro SD card slot.

Connect the Display assembly.

Hold the phone securely to avoid accidental drops.

Insert the battery.

Apply heat to the touchscreen using a hair dryer to soften the adhesive.

  • If the screen is cracked, handle it carefully to prevent shattering into smaller pieces.
  • Use the front camera hole as a starting point to gently pry the glass at one corner.
  • Continue separation using plastic tools, working from top to bottom.

Separate the menu button flex cable from the touchscreen gently.

Remove the display from the frame using the previously described methods.

Careful not to cover menu buttons, camera hole, or light sensor when installing the new frame.

  • Clean the old from any remaining adhesive tape
  • Install the new frame, ensuring all components are exposed and accessible.

Use adhesive for better results.

  • Install the new display assembly.
  • Begin by reassembling the device from the previous disassembly steps.

Verify that the repair is complete and functional.

  • Inspect the device for any signs of damage or malfunction.
