Opening the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus will damage the waterproof seals. The phone's water protection can be restored if you replace the damaged seals with new adhesive.
This process requires replacement adhesive for reassembly.
Careful: overheating can damage the AMOLED display or internal battery.
Be cautious when cutting through the adhesive — risk of damaging the fingerprint sensor flex cable.
Cracked rear glass may prevent suction cup adhesion.
Press a suction cup onto the back cover.
Insert an opening pick in the gap and slide it to the bottom right corner.
Insert a second opening pick into the gap.
This opening pick stays in place to prevent resealing of adhesive during rear glass removal.
Insert the tip of the opening pick at the bottom left corner of the S9 Plus.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the right side of the frame and slide it to the top right corner.
Do not open the phone all the way yet, as the flex cable for the fingerprint reader is still connected to the motherboard.
Locate the volume button on the rear glass.
Note: This process requires careful handling of fragile components.
Transfer the rear camera bezel with fingerprint, if applicable:
Remove nine 4 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Insert a precision pick under the right side of the NFC cover.
Remove the plastic cover to access the NFC antenna and charging coil.
