Do not attempt to repair your Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus if it has a damaged or bent frame, as this can cause issues with screen installation and water protection.
Opening the rear glass cover will damage waterproof seals; failure to replace them will compromise water protection.
This guide is intended for display replacement only; attempting to separate the display from the frame can result in display destruction.
Switch off your phone.
Be cautious when using heat tools, as excessive heat can damage the AMOLED display and internal battery.
Locate the areas marked for cutting in the provided image.
Avoid slicing or prying near the fingerprint sensor flex cable to prevent damage.
Apply strong tape or superglue to ensure suction cup adhesion if rear glass is cracked.
Press a suction cup onto the back cover, using force to create a slight gap between cover and frame.
Insert an opening pick in the gap and slide it to the bottom right corner.
Locate the bottom left corner of the S9 Plus and insert the tip of the opening pick.
Ensure not to apply too much pressure which may crack the screen.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the right side of the frame and slide it to the top right corner.
Do not open the phone all the way yet, as the flex cable for the fingerprint reader is still connected.
Use the opening picks to cut the remaining adhesive under the upper part of the rear glass.
Careful when handling the rear glass as it may be fragile.
Remove the rear glass.
Remove the nine 4 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Insert an opening pick under the right side of the plastic cover.
Remove the plastic cover.
Use the flat end of a spudger to carefully pry up the battery flex cable.
Remove the two 4 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Remove the plastic cover from the motherboard.
Disconnect the display flex cable using the flat end of a spudger.
Taping over cracked display glass prevents further breakage and bodily harm.
Use clear packing tape to cover the display face and prevent glass shards from spreading during repair.
Wear safety glasses to protect eyes from any loose glass particles.
Apply a suction cup to the upper edge of the phone when it is warm to the touch.
Slide the right opening pick halfway down the side of the frame to cut the adhesive.
If cutting becomes too difficult, reheat and reapply the iOpener.
Insert a fourth opening pick on the left side of the frame and slide it down to the bottom left corner.
Be cautious as the screen's flex cable is nearby, near the power button.
Remove adhesive from all sides of phone with caution.
Old adhesive and debris can damage new display; ensure complete removal before installation.
