Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus SIM Card or SD Card Replacement

The SIM card tray contains both the SIM card and (optional) SD card. This guide will assist in ejecting the tray and swapping or removing either component. The SIM card tray is compatible with both S8 and S8+ devices.

Step 1 | SIM Card or SD Card

Careful not to confuse the ejection hole with the microphone hole, as inserting your tool there may cause permanent damage.

Insert a SIM card eject tool or a bent into the small ejection hole, located on the top edge of the phone.
Press firmly to release the SIM card tray.

Step 2

Remove the SIM/SD card tray by pulling it straight out.

The SIM/SD cards will fall out of the tray.
When reinserting the SIM card, ensure it is aligned with the tray.
Inspect the rubber gasket near the outer end of the tray for damage or absence. If found damaged or missing, replace to prevent water and dust exposure to internal components.
