Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Loudspeaker Assembly Replacement

Adhesive on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is extremely stubborn; repeated heat and pull cycles are required to loosen it.

  • Start by carefully following this repair guide for loudspeaker assembly replacement.
  • Apply patience, as multiple heat and pull cycles will be necessary to fully remove the adhesive.

Step 1 | Rear Glass

Step 1 image

Opening your phone will compromise its waterproof seals; replacement adhesive is recommended.

  • Prepare replacement adhesive before proceeding or take precautions against liquid exposure upon reassembly.
  • Heat an iOpener for two minutes on a long edge of the phone.
  • Reheat and reapply as needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution: the OLED display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Step 2

Step 2 image

Phone back cover must be removed with caution as curved glass can cause suction cup failure.

  • Apply a suction cup near heated edge of phone, avoiding the curve.
  • If cracked or stubborn back cover: use strong tape or superglue for suction cup adhesion.

Insert opening pick under rear glass while lifting on suction cup. Be prepared to push up due to curved design.

  • Reapply heat as needed to soften adhesive, which cools rapidly.

Step 3

Step 3 image

Reheat the iOpener and reapply it to soften the adhesive.

  • Ensure the pick remains firmly inserted into the glass.

Slide opening pick along phone side, separating adhesive.

Go slowly to avoid losing tip in seam.

  • If sliding becomes difficult, reheat and reapply iOpener.
  • Leave first pick in place and grab a second for next step.
  • Leaving first pick inserted helps prevent re-adhesion of separated glue.

  • Repeat the heating and cutting process for the remaining three sides.
  • Apply an opening pick to each side before moving on to the next, preventing the adhesive from resealing.

Remove remaining adhesive residue from phone chassis with tweezers.

  • Clean adhesion areas with high concentration (at least 90%) isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
  • Peel adhesive backing off new rear glass, then align one edge against the phone chassis.

Ensure phone powers on and functions correctly before installing new adhesive.

  • If reusing old back cover or a non-adhesive model, consult separate guide.
  • To reinstall without replacing adhesive, remove large debris chunks from back cover.

Note: Back cover will not be waterproof if not replaced with adhesive, but glue is usually sufficient for holding in place.
