This repair guide is for replacing the display or screen adhesive on a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. It includes instructions for installing both a three-piece and full adhesive set, and should be used in combination with the Galaxy S7 Edge display assembly replacement guide.
Removing glue or glass remnants from the phone frame can damage the new display.
Do not touch or damage the recessed strip of adhesive under the fingerprint sensor cable.
Be gentle when handling the capacitative buttons as they are thin and fragile.
If replacing button adhesive, use tweezers to carefully pull it off. If necessary, use an opening tool to gently scrape it away.
Replacing the fingerprint bracket adhesive is only necessary if you replaced the fingerprint sensor.
Be careful not to touch the exposed adhesive surface, use tweezers to peel off the blue plastic liner.
Place the bracket over the fingerprint sensor.
Replace capacitative button adhesives if necessary.
Carefully peel off white backing from one adhesive.
Peel off blue plastic liners from adhesives.
Peel off the clear plastic backing from the U-shaped adhesive, exposing one side of the adhesive.
If not properly aligned, carefully peel the adhesive back up and realign it.
Once aligned, use your fingers to press the adhesive onto the frame.
Peel one end adhesive strip from the white plastic backing.
Continue reassembling your device until ready to attach the screen.
Apply a few books' worth of weight on top of the screen for one hour to help the adhesive bond, as insufficient bonding may lead to premature peeling or damage to the screen and surrounding components.
