Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Battery Replacement

Ensure your phone is powered off and unplugged from the charger prior to beginning this repair.

  • The battery may need replacement after being dropped, experiencing water damage, or exceeding a certain number of charging cycles.

Step 1 | Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Disassembly

Be cautious of burns when using heat to remove adhesive.

  • Apply a blow dryer directly to the screen to loosen the adhesive.

Wait for the phone to cool down before handling it with your bare hand.

Separation of screen and frame may compromise water resistance.

  • Insert a metal spudger between the screen and frame to start separation.
  • For easier removal, use multiple metal spudgers.

  • Use a metal spudger and slide it around the phone.
  • If necessary, use a blow dryer on the area being slid for better access.

Hold the screen firmly and lift it upwards.

Wash your hands with soap and hot water afterwards to prevent damage from oils.

Step 5 | Battery

Remove the screw with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

Use tweezers to carefully lift off the small plastic cover.

Remove the small plastic cover with tweezers.

Step 8

Use a Phillips head #000 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws shown in the photograph.

Disconnect the marked pieces from the motherboard using a pair of tweezers.

  • Remove the middle button with tweezers.
  • Disconnect the button's connection to the motherboard.

Use a metal spudger to gently pry the mid frame and battery away from the motherboard.

Remove the battery from the midframe using a spudger.
