Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Rear Glass Adhesive Replacement

Removing the rear glass panel destroys its adhesive. Replace with new tape following these steps:

  • Remove any residual adhesive using a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.
  • Purchase correct S6 Edge adhesive, matching the original removed from your phone.

Remove the clear film from the adhesive.

Place the glass panel face-up with lens holes positioned to your right.

  • Grasp the adhesive from both sides and position it over the rear glass, ensuring alignment.
  • Verify that the camera and heart rate sensor openings on the phone are aligned with the adhesive tape.
  • Lay the adhesive tape on top of the glass panel.

Press the tape firmly onto the glass using a gentle rubbing motion.

Remove the green protective covering.

Remove the inner film from its protective layer.

Trimming may not correct major misalignments.

  • Use an X-Acto knife to carefully trim excess adhesive edges.
  • Misalignment will only be corrected for minor imperfections.
  • If more than half the strip is trimmed, remove tape and start again.

Remove remaining adhesive from the midframe using tweezers.

  • Clean adhesion areas with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90% concentration) and a lint-free cloth.

Position the rear glass over the phone, ensuring the top edges align.

Verify there is no gap between the glass and midframe at the top edge.

  • Press the top edge of the rear glass firmly into place.

Press the rear panel firmly into the midframe.

Ensure the rear panel is securely seated to avoid damage or gaps.
