- Carefully clean the lens using a soft, dry cloth and avoid touching any sensitive areas.
Step 1 | Removing the shattered glass
Careful handling required when removing shattered glass pieces.
- Prevent debris from falling into camera cavity.
- Inspect lens for damage or need for replacement.
- Remove back cover if necessary (not required in this case).
Step 2 | A Sticky Situation
Use a pair of tweezers to remove as much old adhesive as possible from the glass.
Be careful not to push any remaining adhesive back onto the glass during removal.
Apply heat from an iOpener to loosen and soften the glue, making it easier to remove.
Step 3 | Sticking the Landing
New adhesive tape is required for securing replacement glass.
- Purchase a new roll of adhesive tape along with the replacement glass.
- Apply the tape carefully, making sure to cover the entire surface.
When placing the glue tape, you can either remove the center section before applying or leave it in place (as done here) to avoid accidental adhesion to the camera. Choose the method that suits your preference.
Step 4 | The Eagle has Landed
Remove protective plastic from both sides of replacement glass.
- Grip glass with tweezers or suction tool and place in camera dome.
- Firmly press into place, ensuring edge is flush or slightly lower than dome.
Be cautious not to stick plastic to phone during removal.
Optional: Apply iOpener to warm glue for improved grip and level alignment.
