Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Display Replacement

This guide replaces only the display on your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, leaving the original frame, logic board, and battery intact.

  • Verify you have a replacement screen that does not come pre-installed in a new frame (a.k.a. chassis).
  • If the original frame is damaged or bent, replace it to ensure proper screen mounting and prevent damage from uneven pressure.
  • The display may be destroyed during separation from the frame; proceed only if you intend to replace the display.

  • Removing the rear glass will destroy its adhesive – this must be replaced before reinstalling or replacing the rear glass.

Step 1 | SIM Tray

Do not reinstall the back cover without proper surface preparation.

  • Use tweezers to remove any remaining adhesive from the back cover and phone chassis.
  • Clean the adhesion areas with high concentration isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%) and a lint-free cloth, swiping in one direction only.

Ensure your phone is powered on and functioning before installing new adhesive.

  • Align the pre-cut replacement adhesive sheet with the back cover's contours, ensuring screw holes match the frame.
  • If no adhesive sheet is available, use a high-bond double-sided tape like Tesa 61395.

Apply strong, steady pressure to the phone for several minutes after installing the rear cover.

  • Use heavy objects or books to apply pressure, such as placing the phone under a stack of heavy books.
  • Alternatively, reinstall the back cover without new adhesive by removing large chunks and heating the cover before applying pressure.
