Samsung Galaxy S6 Active USB Board Replacement

Damage may occur due to over-charging, water damage, or frequent USB device insertion/removal.

  • Power off the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active and unplug from any power source.
  • Proceed with replacing the USB board using this guide.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the SIM tray's pivot.

  • Pry open the tray until it comes loose from its socket.

Remove the SIM tray containing the SIM card from the phone.

Place the iOpener, a hair dryer, or a heat gun on the front face (sides, top, bottom) of the phone for 60 seconds to loosen adhesive.

Use caution when handling heat sources to avoid burns.

  • If using an iOpener, microwave it for 30 seconds before use.

Position a suction cup near the bottom edge of the screen.

Avoid applying excessive force, which may damage the display.

Be careful not to apply excessive force and risk breaking the display.

  • Use a suction cup to gently pull the lower half of the panel.
  • If resistance remains, reattempt the removal after increasing iOpener dwell time.

Be careful not to apply too much pressure.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the glass and frame at the bottom of the phone.
  • Slide the tool around the screen, prying the display away from the body gently.

Careful not to damage the connection between the lower screen and the motherboard.

  • Hold down the phone's frame while using a suction cup on the lower half of the screen.
  • Lift only the lower part of the screen, avoiding excessive force that could disconnect the clip from the top of the motherboard.

Remove the small clip covering the screen connector with tweezers, grasping the clip at the crease on its side.

  • Pull the clip outward to release the connection.

Disconnect the screen connector using a plastic tool.

Remove the display assembly, including both the LCD and digitizer.

Remove the frame by unscrewing the sixteen 4mm screws with a PH000 Phillips Head Screwdriver.

Apply gentle pressure to the top, bottom, and sides of the phone with your fingers.

  • You should begin to hear the clips releasing as you apply even pressure.

  • Pull out the rear case after all clips have popped.
  • Separate it from the frame containing the battery.
  • Be careful not to damage any components during removal.

Insert a plastic opening tool along the side of the frame and gently pull out the battery.

Disconnect the battery from its mounting bracket in the frame.

Step 16 | USB Board

Undo the connector and two wires on the motherboard using a plastic opening tool.

  • Remove the two 4mm screws using the Phillips #000 screwdriver.

Insert a plastic opening tool under the USB board.

Remove the USB board from the rear case.
