Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Display Assembly Replacement

To access internal components, first remove the Display Assembly, which includes both the LCD and Digitizer.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Insert a fingernail or a plastic spudger into the SIM tray's pivot on the side.

Pry open the tray to extract it from its socket.

Remove the SIM tray and carefully lift out the SIM card.

Excessive heat can damage your device; proceed with caution.

  • Apply heat (iOpener, hair dryer, or heat gun) to the front face of the phone for 60 seconds to loosen adhesive.
  • If using an iOpener, first heat it in a microwave for 30 seconds.

Attach a suction cup to the lower half of the screen.

Be careful not to break the display — excessive force can cause damage.

  • Use the suction cup to pull gently on the lower half of the panel.
  • If still stuck, leave the iOpener on longer and try again.

Insert a plastic spudger between the glass and the phone's frame at the bottom.

  • Slide the plastic spudger around the screen, prying the display gently away from the body.

Avoid excessive force when separating the screen — risk of damage or detachment.

  • Pull the lower half of the screen using a suction cup while holding down the phone frame to loosen both components.
  • Lift only the lower part of the screen, as it is connected by a clip to the top of the motherboard and may detach if pulled too forcefully.

Locate the small clip at the top of the phone, covering the screen connection.

  • Use a pair of tweezers to grasp the clip at the crease on its side.
  • Pull the clip out from underneath the phone.

Use a plastic tool to release the screen connection.

Remove the display assembly, which includes both the LCD and digitizer.
