Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Battery Replacement

  • Refer to this guide for steps on removing the battery from your device.
  • After removal, install a replacement battery in its place.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Insert a plastic opening tool into the pivot on the side of the SIM tray.

  • Pry open the tray until it is removed from its socket.

Remove the SIM tray containing the SIM card from the phone.

Heat the front face (sides, top, bottom) of the phone using a iOpener, hair dryer, or heat gun for 60 seconds to loosen adhesive.

  • If using an iOpener, heat it in a microwave for 30 seconds.

Attach a suction cup to the lower half of the screen.

Avoid applying excessive force to the panel — risk of display damage.

  • Use a suction cup to pull gently on the lower half of the panel.
  • If resistance is still felt, repeat this step with the iOpener left on for a longer period.

Insert plastic spudger between glass and frame at the bottom.

  • Slide tool around the screen, prying display away from body.
  • Pry display gently to avoid damage.

Risk of damage: be gentle when separating the screen.

  • Hold the phone's frame firmly while using a suction cup on the lower half of the screen.
  • Lift only the lower part of the screen, avoiding the clip connected to the motherboard's top edge.

Locate the small clip covering the screen connection.

  • Pull the clip out using tweezers, grasping it at the crease on its side.

Disconnect the screen ribbon from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Remove the display assembly, which consists of both the LCD and digitizer.

Use the PH000 Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove the sixteen 4mm screws.

  • Locate the screws in the frame and lift them out with the screwdriver.
  • Remove all sixteen screws before proceeding further.

Apply gentle pressure to the top, bottom, and sides of the phone with your fingers.

  • You will hear the clips release as they separate from each other.

Remove all clips to allow the rear case to be separated from the .

  • Pull out the rear case.
  • The battery will be visible on the back side of the frame.

Insert plastic opening tool into frame's side edge.

Pull firmly to remove battery.

Disconnect the battery from its mounting on the frame.
