This repair guide is for replacing a faulty rear-facing camera.
Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the divot to the left of the rear-facing camera.
Locate the recess at the bottom right corner of the battery.
Use your fingertip to gently pull the microSD card straight down out of its slot.
Follow the same steps as previously described to remove the SIM card.
Be gentle when removing the midframe connector panel — risk of damage or disconnection.
Locate and gently pry the home button cable connector straight up using the sharp tip of a spudger.

Only pry where directed — risk of damage to surrounding components.
Sliding the opening pick along the right edge of the display.
Slide the pick carefully along the edge, stopping just short of the speaker grille.
Avoid damaging internal components by carefully sliding the pick along the top of the earpiece speaker.
Slide the pick around the upper left corner.
If encountering resistance from cooling adhesive, reapply a heated iOpener to the left side and try again.
Insert the opening pick into the lower left corner, working it along the left edge.
Place the opening pick at the bottom left corner, ensuring a secure fit.
Do not remove the opening pick until the iOpener is securely positioned over the home button end of the phone.
Delicate components may be damaged if adhesive is not loosened properly.
Risk of damaging ribbon cables if the opening pick is inserted too deeply.
Use an opening pick to twist and detach the glass from the phone.
Be cautious when handling thin cables — they can be easily damaged.
Adhesive on the home button flex cable can cause damage if torn.
Use the sharp tip of a spudger to lift the front panel assembly cable connector straight up off its socket on the motherboard.
Remove the ten 3.4mm Phillips #000 screws from the display side of the midframe.
Run a plastic opening tool along the left inner side of the interior frame.
Be careful not to damage the midframe or the motherboard.
Locate the silver bezel and gently pull it towards you, separating the midframe into two halves.
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry any stubborn corners loose from the silver bezel.
Be cautious when handling the interior midframe/motherboard assembly to avoid damage.
Remove the 3.0 mm Phillips #00 screw holding the motherboard to the midframe.
Pull the motherboard away from the midframe.
Do not remove the motherboard completely as it is still attached by the Micro-USB port daughterboard connector.
Disconnect the rear-facing camera connector by prying it straight up with the flat end of a spudger.
