Forgot password or pattern: risk of permanent data loss if not done correctly.

  • Log in with Google account on another phone connected to a previously used WiFi network.
  • Enter Backup PIN if created prior to this issue.

Turn off your phone.

  • Press and hold the Volume UP, Home, and Power keys simultaneously.
  • Release the Power key when you see the Galaxy logo, but continue to hold the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Release all keys once the Android System Recovery screen appears.

Use the Volume Up/Down keys for navigation and the Power On key to confirm selections.

  • Choose "wipe cache partition", then "Yes -- delete all user data", followed by "reboot system now".
