Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport Front Facing Camera Replacement
This guide shows front-facing camera replacement for this device.
- Note: Most of the phone must be disassembled before proceeding.
Step 1 | Battery
Locate and remove the back casing using the notch at the top.
Step 2
Be cautious when handling the battery — risk of physical injury.
- Lift up the battery using a plastic spudger or fingernail.
Step 3 | Screen
When working with electronics, always use an ESD-safe tool to avoid accidental damage.
- Choose a plastic opening tool or black nylon spudger for delicate work.
- Use the metal spudger only when serious prying power is required.
The water-resistant screen cannot be removed without causing damage.
Step 4
The plastic cover and LCD screen may detach during repair.
- Use a nylon spudger to remove the LCD screen, if it becomes separated from the cover.
Be careful when handling the connecting ribbon in the upper right area of the LCD screen; avoid damaging its connection to the motherboard.
- Avoid holding the phone too close to your face or eyes during repair.
- Small glass shards may dislodge, and the metal spudger can slip causing injury.
Step 5 | Front-Facing Camera
Remove screws from around the plate.
Step 6
Apply pressure to the battery cavity to push the plate outward.
Step 7
Use tweezers to carefully remove the camera from its plug located at the top of the phone.
Be gentle, as excessive force may damage the surrounding components.
