This repair replaces the speaker enclosure on a Galaxy S4, which connects the speakerphone speaker, antennas 1, and antenna 2 to the midframe.
Insert the plastic opening tool, or your fingertip, into the small indentation to the left of the rear-facing camera.
Hold the rear case by the lower right corner and gently lift upwards to release.
Use a plastic opening tool or your finger to pry up the battery in its compartment.
Press the SIM card slightly deeper with a plastic opening tool or your fingernail.
Release the card; it may pop out.
During reassembly, ensure secure click when inserting the SIM card into its slot.
Remove Nine 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Be cautious when prying the clips - thin areas of the midframe can crack with excessive force.
Slide the opening tool along the seam where the midframe meets the display, working from the bottom up.
Slide the opening tool along the seam on the power button side.
Pry carefully as the edges can be fragile.
Slide the opening tool around the top of the phone to release any remaining clips.
Disconnect the midframe connectors.
