Clear Camera app data and restart phone if getting "Camera failed" error: open Application manager, select "Clear data" in Camera app, then reboot. If issue persists, perform factory reset (back up data first) or reinstall Android OS. Otherwise, camera hardware replacement is required.
Use a plastic opening tool, or your finger nail, to pry at the small divot located to the left of the rear-facing camera, near the power button.
Grasp the rear case at its lower left corner and lift it off the phone.
For reassembly, ensure proper alignment before pushing the card into place.
Insert plastic opening tool or finger into battery compartment notch.
Remove nine 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.
Avoid excessive force, which may cause damage to the midframe's thin points.
Continue to pry around the corner of the phone.
Continue prying around the corner towards the power button side.
Continue sliding the opening tool around the top of the phone.
Remove the midframe from the display assembly.
Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the USB board connector.
Remove the headphone jack assembly cable by disconnecting its connector.
Remove the 2.4 mm Phillips #00 screw from the motherboard assembly.
Remove the motherboard carefully.
Disconnect the rear-facing camera connector using the flat end of a spudger.
