Familiarize yourself with these instructions before attempting to replace the midframe of your Samsung Galaxy S4.
Insert a plastic opening tool, or your finger, into the recess to the left of the rear-facing camera.
Hold the rear case by the corner nearest the divot and lift upwards.
Be careful not to damage surrounding components when handling the rear case.
Insert the plastic opening tool into the battery compartment notch and gently lift the battery upwards.
Press the SIM card deeper with a plastic opening tool or fingernail until you hear a click.
Do not force further once the click is heard, as this can damage the SIM card slot.
During reassembly, press the SIM card into its slot until it clicks in place.
Remove all 9 x 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe.
Beware of fragile parts when prying; excessive force can cause damage.
Slide your opening tool along the bottom edge, working it into the gap between the midframe and display.
Locate the gap at the power button end and pry it further open.
Slide the opening tool around the top of the phone, releasing remaining clips and freeing the midframe from the display assembly.
Remove the midframe from the display assembly.
