Ensure you have purchased a compatible replacement front-facing camera for your Samsung Galaxy S4 before proceeding.
Use a plastic opening tool or your fingernail to pry in the divot to the left of the rear-facing camera.
Lift the rear case at the corner closest to the divot, then slide it off the phone.
Ensure the card clicks securely in place during reassembly to avoid losing data.
You will know it's seated correctly when you hear a click.
Remove the SIM card.
Remove the nine 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws.
Beware of cracking thin points on the midframe bezel.
Continue to pry around the corner of the phone.
Locate the gap near the power button and insert an opening tool.
Continue sliding the opening tool around the top of the phone to release the remaining clips and free the midframe from the display assembly.
Remove the midframe from the display assembly.
Remove the upper display assembly bracket.
Disconnect the front-facing camera cable with the flat end of a spudger.
Disconnect and remove the front-facing camera module.
