Be cautious when using a heatgun on this device, as excessive heat can damage the digitizer and cause discoloration.

  • Preheat the glass for 3-5 minutes, ideally 4 minutes, at the lowest setting of your heatgun.
  • Avoid using a hair drier, as it does not produce sufficient heat.
  • Monitor the device closely; if discoloration occurs, immediately turn off the heat gun to prevent damage.

The goal of this procedure is to soften the adhesive holding the glass to the screen assembly.

  • Work your way around the edges with plastic picks.
  • Take your time to avoid shattering the glass.
  • If your screen is heavily cracked, apply several layers of packing tape and proceed carefully to prevent further damage.

  • Wear safety glasses if you anticipate handling broken glass.

  • Use a plastic razor blade or a guitar pick for intricate cleanup, as they won't scratch the digitizer.

Be cautious when removing the glass near the two touch keys at the bottom as they can be damaged easily.

Wipe the digitizer with lint-free wipes or a clean microfiber towel.

  • Lens cleaner can be used on a microfiber cloth for added cleaning power.
