Replacing Samsung Galaxy S4 SIM Card

This repair guide covers the removal and replacement of the SIM card in a Samsung Galaxy S4 model device.

Step 1 | Rear Case

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingertip to pry in the small depression to the left of the camera lens, located near the power button.

Hold the rear case by its corner nearest to the divot, then lift and remove it from the phone.

Step 3 | MicroSD Card

Press the microSD card slightly deeper into its slot using a spudger or your fingernail until you hear a click.

The card will only come out after the click, so be patient and wait for it to release.

  • Release the microSD card and let it pop out of its slot.
  • Remove the microSD card from its slot.

To avoid damaging the card or slot, ensure proper alignment during reassembly.

  • Push the microSD card into the slot until it clicks in place for secure insertion.

Step 4 | Battery

Insert a plastic opening tool or your finger into the notch of the battery compartment.

  • Lift the battery upward.
  • Remove the battery from your phone.

Step 5 | SIM Card

Use a plastic opening tool or your fingernail to press the SIM card slightly deeper.

  • You will hear a click when the card is secure.
  • Release the card and it will pop out of its slot.
  • Remove the SIM card from the device.

Be careful not to damage the SIM card or its slot during removal and reinstallation.

  • During reassembly, push the SIM card into the slot until it clicks in place.
