Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Motherboard Replacement [Verizon]

  • This repair guide is for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini with model number SCH-I435.

Step 1 | Battery

Press and hold the END key to shut down the phone.

Use a plastic opening tool to remove the back cover.

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the battery free.

Step 4 | SIM Card

  • Use tweezers to slide the SIM card towards the device's bottom.

Step 5 | SD Card

Push the memory card holder out using a nylon spudger through the hole at its top.

Step 6 | Motherboard [Verizon]

Remove the #00 Phillips screwdriver and use it to unscrew the 10 x 4.0 mm screws located on the back of the phone.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the USB port.

  • Slide the tool along the perimeter of the phone, between the rear housing and mid-frame.
  • Continue until you feel the clips release.

Carefully separate the rear housing from the mid-frame to avoid damage.

Use a pair of tweezers to carefully lift the two charging assembly press fit connectors.

Remove the headphone jack press-fit connector by lifting it with a flat-end nylon spudger.

Note: This may vary for devices with dual SIM.

Hold the nylon spudger with the flat end facing upwards and use it to gently lift the infrared sensor press-fit connector.

  • The press-fit connector should release from its socket, freeing the ribbon cable.

Use the flat end of a nylon spudger to gently lift the front-facing camera press-fit connector, releasing the ribbon cable.

Step 12

Gently lift the motherboard up and partially away from the device.

Be careful, as the digitizer ribbon cable remains attached to the underside of the motherboard.

Step 13

Insert the flat end of a nylon spudger into the gap under the digitizer press-fit connector's lip.

Lift the spudger upwards to release the connector and free the motherboard.
