Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Charging Assembly

Replace the charging assembly when unable to charge, as outlined below.

Step 1 | Battery

Hold the END key until your phone turns off.

Use a plastic opening tool to remove the back cover of the cell phone.

Step 3

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the battery free.

Step 4 | SIM Card

Use tweezers to carefully slide the SIM card towards the bottom of the device.

Step 5 | SD Card

Use a nylon spudger to push through the top hole of the memory card holder and slide it out.

Step 6 | Charging Assembly

Remove the 10 4.0 mm Phillips screws on the back of the phone using a #00 Phillips screwdriver.

  • If needed, use tweezers to help remove the screws from their holes due to their small size.

Slide a plastic tool along the perimeter of the phone from the USB port, working between the rear housing and frame.

  • The clips will release as you move around the edge.

Step 8

Careful not to damage components when separating the rear housing from the mid-frame.

  • Loosen the screws holding the rear housing in place with a Torx screwdriver.
  • Gently pry the rear housing away from the mid-frame, working your way around the edges.

Release the two flex cables connected to the USB board, utilizing tweezers may aid in this process.

Step 10

Use the plastic opening tool to gently pry under the charging port, separating it from the double-sided tape below.

Step 11

Release the USB board by lifting it slightly.

  • Carefully lift the main board.
  • Remove the USB board from the main board.
