How to add wireless charging to Samsung Galaxy S4 mini

  • Solder the flexible wire to both the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals.

Step 4 | Soldering wireless charging pad onto the USB port

Connect the wireless charging pad connection to CN2 on the USB port.

  • Secure the wire to the ground on the USB port.

Any part of the external metal surface can be used for grounding, but ensure it's securely connected to avoid electrical issues.

Step 5 | Altering back cover to fit the wires inside the phone

Insert a screwdriver and carefully pry open a gap in the rear casing near the battery compartment, creating space for the wires.

  • Place the back cover while ensuring the charging pad wires fit through the pre-drilled holes.

Step 7 | Placing wireless charging pad to keep NFC functioning

Position the wireless charging pad about 1 inch off-center to ensure proper alignment with the NFC chip within the battery.

Step 8 | Booting the phone to check everything is working

Galaxy S4 mini may still boot even if wireless charging pad is not properly aligned or installed.

  • Ensure the wireless charging pad is correctly positioned on the device.
  • Check for any signs of physical damage to the phone's charging contacts or the charging pad itself.
