Power down the phone.

Use a panel opener tool to remove the back panel.

Use a crayon or similar tool to carefully lift the battery from its compartment.

Remove the SIM and SD card.

Remove 10 4 mm Phillips screws from the back of the phone using a #00 Phillips screwdriver.

Locate the USB jack

  • Slide a plastic spudger or similar tool along the edges of the phone, working from the USB port towards the edges.
  • The goal is to dislodge the retaining clips holding the rear case in place.

Remove the back case and middle frame carefully to avoid damaging any components.

  • Use a plastic spudger to pry off the back case.
  • Continue prying until you can access the middle frame, then remove it as well.

Disconnect the foil cable.

Step 9

Lift the corner of the PCB to access the audio jack. Remove the audio jack from its socket.
