Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Midframe Replacement

Replace the midframe only if necessary, as improper installation may void warranty and cause further damage.

Step 1 | Rear Case

Be careful when prying with a plastic opening tool or your fingernail.

  • Pry in the divot to the left of the rear-facing camera, near the power button.
  • Lift the rear case by its corner nearest the divot and remove it from the phone.

Step 2 | MicroSD Card

Press the microSD card gently with a plastic opening tool or your fingernail.

  • Continue pressing until you hear a click.
  • Release the card, and it will pop out of its slot.
  • Remove the microSD card.

Step 3 | Battery

Insert a plastic opening tool or your finger into the notch of the battery compartment.

  • Lift the battery upward to remove it.

Step 4 | SIM Card

Press the SIM card slightly deeper into its slot using a plastic opening tool or your fingernail.

Continue pressing until you hear a click to ensure proper seating.

  • Release the SIM card and it will pop out of its slot.
  • Remove the SIM card from the device.

Step 5 | Midframe

Remove the four metallic pads at each corner using the tip of a spudger.

  • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 12 screws connecting the midframe.

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry along the entire perimeter of the midframe, releasing it from the front case.
