Samsung Galaxy S25 USB-C Board Replacement

Note: Cleaning the port beforehand might resolve your issue.

  • Identify your problem: improper charging, unexpected disconnections, or loose USB-C cable.
  • You'll need replacement back cover adhesive for this repair.

Replacing the SIM reader or USB-C port requires a full board replacement due to their soldered connection.

Step 1 | Safety precautions

Do not start this procedure with a fully charged Galaxy battery, as damage could cause it to ignite.

  • Unplug all cables from the device.
  • Power off the phone by holding the side key and volume down button, then selecting Power off.

Step 2 | Remove the SIM card tray

Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or a straightened paper clip into the SIM card tray hole until it ejects.

  • Once ejected, carefully remove the SIM card tray.

Step 3 | Cracked glass preparation

Cracked glass can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply packing tape strips to the cracked glass, covering it completely.
  • Maintain a single strip of non-overlapping tape at the bottom edge, sufficient for suction cup fitment.

Ensure no tape adheres to the frame. Consider wearing safety glasses during repair.

Step 4 | Heat the back cover

Step 4 image

Use caution when heating the back cover as improper use can damage the display and/or battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover for two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive, following linked safety guidelines carefully.

Step 5 | Adhesive information

  • Insert your tool carefully and only slightly under the cover near the cameras to avoid damaging them.

Step 6 | Apply a suction handle

Apply firm pressure to the suction handle until a gap appears between the back cover and frame.

  • Use your lifting hand to hold the phone in place with your fingers, or steady the frame with your other hand.
  • Be cautious: your phone may be hot during this process.

  • Insert a pointed tool, such as an opening pick, into the gap.

If stuck, go around perimeter with an opening pick to separate remaining adhesive.

  • Power on phone and test functions before reassembly.
  • Turn off phone completely before continuing work.
  • Check rear cameras for smudges; wipe clean with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

Apply replacement adhesive to either the frame or the back cover; use cutouts and contours for alignment guidance.
