Let the Galaxy's battery drain below 25% before starting to avoid risk of explosion.

  • Unplug all cables from the phone.
  • Completely power off the phone by pressing the side key and volume down button.

Step 2 | Cracked glass preparation

Glass shards can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply packing tape strips to cracked back glass until completely covered, ensuring it's contained and suction cup adheres.
  • Create a single, non-overlapping strip of tape along the bottom edge, large enough for a suction cup to fit.
  • Only apply tape to the glass, avoiding contact with the frame.

Consider wearing safety glasses to protect your eyes from loose glass shards during repair.

Step 3 | Heat the back cover

Improper use of a heat gun may damage the display and/or battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer or heat gun to heat the cover.

If still stuck, reapply an opening pick around the perimeter to separate any remaining adhesive.

  • During reassembly, power on your phone to test functions before sealing.
  • Power down your phone completely before proceeding.

Clean smudges from rear cameras with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

  • Apply replacement back cover adhesive either to the frame or the back cover, using cutouts for alignment.
  • If applied to the back cover, follow this guide; if applied to the frame, use the corresponding guide.
