Samsung Galaxy S25+ USB-C Board Replacement

Before starting this repair, try cleaning the port and see if it fixes your problem.

  • You'll need replacement back cover adhesive to complete this repair.
  • The USB-C port and SIM reader are soldered to the board, so replacing either of these parts requires a full board swap.

If your device isn't charging properly or you experience disconnects/USB-C cable looseness, consider replacing the entire USB-C board (daughterboard).

Step 1 | Safety precautions

A lithium-ion battery can catch fire if damaged — let it drain below 25% before starting this repair.

  • Unplug all cables from your Galaxy phone.
  • Power off the phone by holding the side key and volume down button simultaneously, then select Power off.

Step 2 | Remove the SIM card tray

Press the SIM eject tool, a bit, or a straightened paper clip into the SIM card tray hole.

  • The hole is located on the bottom edge of your phone.
  • Continue pressing until the tray ejects.
  • Avoid confusing it with the adjacent small mic hole.
  • Once ejected, carefully remove the SIM card tray.

Step 3 | Cracked glass preparation

Step 3 image

Cracked glass shards can cause injury or complicate disassembly, so cover it first.

  • Apply packing tape strips over the cracked glass until fully covered for containment and suction cup adhesion.
  • A single strip of tape should be across the bottom edge, big enough for a suction cup to fit on.
  • Tape only covers the glass; avoid adhering it to the frame.
  • Consider wearing safety glasses to protect against loose glass particles.

Step 4 | Heat the back cover

Step 4 image

Improper use of a heat gun may damage the display and/or battery.

  • Use an iOpener on the back cover's bottom edge for two minutes to soften the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, apply heat with a hair dryer or heat gun.
  • Follow safety guidelines when using a heat gun.

Step 5 | Adhesive information

Position the suction handle on the bottom edge of the back cover, directly over its center.

Apply steady pressure to the suction handle until a gap appears between the back cover and frame.

  • Suction Handle: maintain strong force during removal.
  • Hold phone with one hand, using fingers or free hand for stability.
  • Caution: phone may be hot; handle with care.
  • Insert opening pick tip into the gap formed between back cover and frame.

Use the suction handle to lift and remove the back cover.

  • If stuck, go back around the perimeter with an opening pick to separate remaining adhesive.
  • Power on your phone during reassembly and test all functions before sealing it up — risk of electrical issues if sealed with problems present.
  • Power down your phone completely before continuing work.
  • Inspect rear cameras for smudges, gently wiping them with a clean, lint-free cloth if necessary to prevent damage.

  • Back cover adhesive: apply to either frame or back cover. Use cutouts and contours to align best.
  • If matches the back cover, follow this guide. If matches the frame, use that guide instead.

Do not damage cables during removal.

  • During reassembly, keep USB-C board connection cables out of the way to avoid snagging.
