Samsung Galaxy S25+ Rear Cameras Replacement

Fuzzy or noisy photos and videos can indicate failing rear cameras; replace them if necessary.

  • Determine which rear camera(s) (wide, ultrawide, or telephoto) need replacement.
  • You'll require replacement back cover adhesive to complete this repair.

Step 1 | Safety precautions

Step 1 image

Thumbnail 2

Allow the Galaxy's battery to discharge below 25% to prevent potential damage.

A charged lithium-ion battery may catch fire if damaged — perform repairs with a discharged battery only.

  • Unplug all cables from your phone.
  • Hold the side key and volume down button, then select Power off to completely power down your phone.

Step 2 | Cracked glass preparation

Step 2 image

Thumbnail 3

Cracked back glass can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply non-overlapping packing tape strips across the cracked glass, covering it completely.
  • Ensure a single strip of tape is on the bottom edge, allowing a suction cup to fit.

Only apply tape directly to the glass; avoid sticking it to the frame.

  • Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes from potential flying glass debris during repair.

Step 3 | Heat the back cover

Step 3 image

Careful handling required: improper use of a heat gun can damage the display and/or battery.

  • Apply heat to soften adhesive using an iOpener for two minutes, or with a hair dryer/heating tool (following proper use guidelines).
  • Heat an area on the bottom edge of the back cover.

Step 4 | Adhesive information

Adhesive damage can occur if not carefully separated.

  • Identify the perimeter adhesive on the back cover frame using the provided picture as reference.
  • Insert your tool under the cover, near the cameras, only slightly to avoid damage.

Step 5 | Apply a suction handle

Step 5 image

Careful: Your phone may be hot.

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force until a gap forms between the back cover and frame.
  • Hold the phone down with your lifting hand or steady the frame with your free hand using the fingers of that hand.
  • Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap.

Step 7 | Separate the bottom edge adhesive

Step 7 image

Slide the opening pick around the bottom right corner and up the right edge to loosen the adhesive.

Step 9 | Separate the top edge adhesive

Step 9 image

Insert the pick just a few millimeters into the gap near the cameras, being cautious not to damage them.

  • Slide the pick around the top right corner and along the top edge, separating the adhesive as you go.

Step 10 | Separate the left edge adhesive

Step 10 image

Insert an opening pick into the top left corner of the device and gently guide it down along the left edge to break the adhesive seal.

Step 11 | Remove the back cover

Step 11 image

Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Use a suction handle to lift and remove the back cover.

  • If stuck, go around the perimeter with an opening pick to separate remaining adhesive.

Power on your phone, test all functions, and power down completely before continuing work.

  • Inspect rear cameras for smudges; wipe gently with clean, lint-free cloth if necessary.

Apply replacement back cover adhesive to either frame or back cover. Use cutouts and contours to ensure best fit.

Step 12 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Step 12 image

Keep track of each screw removed during this repair.

  • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove thirteen screws:
    • Six screws securing the wireless charging coil (3.5 mm long)
    • Seven screws securing the loudspeaker (3.5 mm long)

Make sure each screw is returned exactly to its original location.

Step 14 | Unclip the loudspeaker
