Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Motherboard Replacement

Replace the motherboard if your Samsung Galaxy S25 FE device won't turn on or shutdowns unexpectedly.

  • Purchase replacement back cover adhesive for this repair.

Step 1 | Safety precautions

Allow the Galaxy's battery to drain below 25% before starting, as a charged lithium-ion battery may catch fire if damaged.

  • Unplug all cables from the phone.
  • Powder off by holding the side key and volume down button and selecting Power off.

Step 2 | Cracked glass preparation

Glass shards can cause injury or complicate disassembly.

  • Apply non-overlapping strips of packing tape across the cracked glass, except the frame.
  • Maintain a single strip at the bottom edge to accommodate the suction cup.

Consider wearing safety glasses during this repair.

Step 3 | Heat the back cover

Never attempt to disassemble with an iOpener if it's damaged or faulty.

  • Apply the iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover for 2 minutes, ensuring a smooth heating process.
  • iOpener, hair dryer, or heat gun can be used - refer to specific manufacturer guidelines when using a heat gun.

Follow the linked instructions carefully for heat gun usage to avoid display and/or battery damage.

Step 4 | Adhesive information

Damage to camera lenses may occur if the tool is inserted too deeply.

  • Insert the tool only slightly under the back cover near the cameras.
  • Use the given picture as a reference for separating the adhesive from the frame's perimeter.

Step 5 | Apple a suction handle

Position the suction handle on the center of the back cover's bottom edge, right next to it.

Step 6 | Insert an opening pick

Hold the phone down with the fingers of one hand or use your other hand to stabilize the frame.

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force until a gap forms between the back cover and frame.
  • Your phone may be hot; exercise caution when handling it.

Insert the tip of an opening pick into the formed gap.

Step 7 | Separate the bottom edge adhesive

Apply heat if the back cover feels stuck during separation.

  • Slide a opening pick along the bottom edge to separate the adhesive.

Step 8 | Separate the right edge adhesive

Insert an opening pick into the bottom right corner of the device.

  • Slide it up along the right edge, applying gentle pressure to pry apart the adhesive.

Step 9 | Separate the top edge adhesive

Insert a pick approximately 5mm near each camera.

  • Slide the pick up the right side and across the top edge to break the adhesive.

Step 10 | Separate the left edge adhesive

Insert an opening pick at the top left corner of the device and slide it down along the left edge.

  • The goal is to separate the adhesive.

Step 11 | Remove the back cover

Use a suction handle to lift out the back cover.

  • If stuck, go around perimeter with opening pick and separate remaining adhesive.

Power on phone after reassembly and test all functions before sealing; power down completely afterwards.

  • Inspect rear cameras for smudges; gently wipe clean with lint-free cloth if necessary.

Apply replacement adhesive to either the frame or back cover. Use cutouts and contours to ensure proper alignment.

Step 12 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Insert the spudger tip into the wireless charging coil press connector and gently pry it loose.

Step 13 | Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly screws

Keep track of each screw to ensure it is returned to its original location.

  • Remove fourteen screws using a screwdriver:
    • Six 3.5 mm-long screws for the wireless charging coil
    • Eight 3.5 mm-long screws for the loudspeaker assembly

Failure to accurately store and reattach screws may result in damage to your phone.

Step 14 | Unclip the loudspeaker

Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up the left side of the loudspeaker, loosening its clip.

  • Once removed, take note of the speaker's original position and orientation.
  • To reassemble, press firmly around the perimeter of the loudspeaker with your fingers to engage its clips securely.

Step 15 | Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly

Hold the device with both hands and lift out the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly.

Step 16 | Disconnect the battery

Prying at an incorrect location can damage fragile surface-mounted components.

  • Identify the gold arrow marking the correct prying location for each press connector.
  • Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the battery press connector.

Step 17 | Disconnect the earpiece speaker

Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up the earpiece speaker press connector on the upper right side of the motherboard.

  • Make sure not to apply too much pressure, which could damage nearby components.

Step 18 | Remove the earpiece speaker screws

Remove the earpiece speaker using a Phillips screwdriver.

  • Target the six screws with a length of 3.5 mm.

Step 19 | Remove the earpiece speakeer

Locate the earpiece speaker and use the point of a spudger to lift it by the center of the bottom edge until it unclips.

  • Remove the earpiece speaker.
  • During reassembly, press firmly around the perimeter of the speaker to engage its clips.

Be careful not to smudge the cameras with your fingers or tools.

Step 20 | Disconnect the motherboard

Use a spudger point to pry up and disconnect the three press connectors from the motherboard's bottom edge.

  • Optionally, disconnect other cable ends at phone's bottom and remove for easier access.

During reassembly, reconnect both end of cables if removed to avoid any issues.

Locate the selfie camera press connector, then use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully pry it loose.

Step 22 | Remove the rear cameras screw

Remove the rear camera screw using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 23 | Remove the motherboard

Never touch the cameras or connector areas on the motherboard — risk of damage.

  • Lift the top edge of the motherboard and remove it carefully, keeping cables clear.
  • During reassembly, manage cables to avoid snagging or reposition as needed.

Step 24 | Hold the motherboard up

Avoid pressing the motherboard against your work surface to prevent damaging fragile components.

  • Flip the motherboard over and hold it above your work surface while working on the cameras.
  • Be cautious not to scratch or smudge the exposed camera lenses at the bottom of the board.

Step 25 | Remove the ultrawide camera

Locate the ultrawide camera press connector at the top.

  • Pry up and disconnect the ultrawide camera press connector using a spudger point.
  • Remove the ultrawide camera.

Step 26 | Remove the wide-angle camera

Remove the wide-angle camera before the telephoto camera.

  • Pry up and disconnect the wide-angle camera press connector using a spudger.
  • Take out the wide-angle camera.

Ensure the pegs on the wide-angle camera align with their cutouts on the telephoto camera during reassembly.

Step 27 | Remove the telephoto camera

  • Pry up the telephoto camera (bottom) press connector with the tip of a spudger.
  • Remove the telephone camera.

Step 28 | You're left with the motherboard

The original motherboard has been successfully removed.
