Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Sub Board Replacement

If your phone doesn't detect the SIM card or won't insert the SIM card tray properly, you may need to replace the SIM board.

  • Disconnect and remove the USB-C port and interconnect cables for reduced risk of damage.
  • You'll also need replacement back cover adhesive to complete this repair.

Step 1 | Prepare your phone for disassembly

A fully charged lithium-ion battery can pose a fire risk if damaged during this repair.

  • Let the phone's battery drain to below 25% before starting the repair.
  • Completely power off the phone and unplug all cables.

Step 2 | Remove the SIM card tray

Step 2 image

Thumbnail 3

Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paperclip into the SIM card tray hole.

  • A small mic hole is next to the SIM tray; do not confuse them.
  • Firmly press the SIM eject tool into the hole to eject the SIM card tray.
  • Be careful when handling the ejected tray — it can be fragile.

  • Remove and store the SIM card.
  • To reinsert, align the hole on the left side before firmly pushing the tray into place.

Step 3 | Heat the bottom edge

Step 3 image

Remove the back cover. The mild adhesive holding it in place can be softened with heat.

  • Use an iOpener and apply it to the bottom edge of the back cover for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • As an alternative, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to heat the cover.

Step 4 | Apply a suction handle

Step 4 image

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force.

  • A gap should form between the cover and frame.
  • Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap.

Step 6 | Adhesive information

Locate the adhesive securing the back cover around the perimeter of the frame.

  • Use the provided picture as a reference while separating the adhesive.
  • When removing left and right edge adhesive, insert your pick no more than 3 mm to avoid damaging the wireless charging coil and interconnect cable.

Step 7 | Separate the adhesive

Step 7 image

Apply additional heat if necessary.

  • Run the opening pick along the bottom edge of the device to loosen the adhesive.

Step 8

Slide a pick along the back cover's perimeter to separate remaining adhesive.

  • Avoid inserting the pick too deeply into the long left and right edges.

Step 9 | Remove the back cover

Step 9 image

Remove the back cover.

  • If having trouble, inspect the perimeter for remaining adhesive and use an opening pick to separate.

Power on your phone after reassembly and test all functions before sealing; power down completely before continuing work.

  • Inspect rear cameras and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

Apply replacement adhesive to either the or the back cover. Use cutouts and contours for correct alignment. Follow applicable guide based on adhesive placement.

Step 10 | Disconnect the wireless charging assembly

Step 10 image

Thumbnail 2

Use the point of a spudger or an opening pick to pry up and disconnect the wireless charging assembly press connector from its top edge.

  • If using a spudger, insert the point carefully at the top edge to avoid damaging the connector.
  • If having trouble with the spudger, try switching to an opening pick instead for better leverage.

Step 11 | Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly screws

Step 11 image

Keep track of all removed screws for reinstallation.

  • Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Take note of the eleven 2.8 mm screws for correct reinstallation.

Step 12 | Pry up the loudspeaker

Step 12 image

Removing the wireless charging coil separately can cause damage.

  • Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker together as a single assembly.
  • Use angled tweezers to pry up the loudspeaker by its left edge notch.

When reassembling, press down firmly around the loudspeaker's perimeter to engage its clips securely.

Step 13 | Remove the wireless charging assembly

Step 13 image
