If your phone doesn't detect the SIM card or won't insert the SIM card tray properly, you may need to replace the SIM board.
A fully charged lithium-ion battery can pose a fire risk if damaged during this repair.
Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paperclip into the SIM card tray hole.
Be careful when handling the ejected tray — it can be fragile.
Remove the back cover. The mild adhesive holding it in place can be softened with heat.
Apply a suction handle about 1/3 from the bottom edge of the back cover.
Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force.
Locate the adhesive securing the back cover around the perimeter of the frame.
Apply additional heat if necessary.
Slide a pick along the back cover's perimeter to separate remaining adhesive.
Remove the back cover.
Power on your phone after reassembly and test all functions before sealing; power down completely before continuing work.
Apply replacement adhesive to either the or the back cover. Use cutouts and contours for correct alignment. Follow applicable guide based on adhesive placement.
Use the point of a spudger or an opening pick to pry up and disconnect the wireless charging assembly press connector from its top edge.
Keep track of all removed screws for reinstallation.
Removing the wireless charging coil separately can cause damage.
When reassembling, press down firmly around the loudspeaker's perimeter to engage its clips securely.
Hold both sides of the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly firmly.
Lift upwards with both hands to dislodge the assembly from its mounting points.
Pry only at the gold arrow marked on the board, as incorrect prying location may damage nearby components.
Use the point of a spudger to carefully pry up and release the SUB connector on the USB-C port cable from the sub board.
Remove the Phillips screwdriver and unscrew the two screws (each 2.3mm long) securing the USB-C port.
Avoid applying excessive heat which may damage components.
Avoid damaging the USB-C port cable — creasing or tearing can occur.
Insert the tip of a spudger into one of the USB-C port screw holes.
Remove the USB-C port by gripping its cable.
Use the point of a spudger to carefully release the interconnect cable press connector marked with an "M" on the logic board.
Use the pointed end of a spudger to carefully pry up the interconnect cable press connector (marked S) from its connection on the sub board.
Disconnect and remove the interconnect cable.
Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up the small extension board near the top left corner of the sub board.
If you encounter resistance, lightly heat the board with an iOpener, hair dryer, or heat gun, or apply one drop of high-concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol under the board to soften its adhesive.
Remove the 2.3mm screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the SIM card tray before proceeding.
