Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Front Camera Replacement

Before proceeding, ensure you have the correct replacement back cover adhesive, as it's required for a successful repair.

  • Replace the faulty front camera assembly in your Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge smartphone if images from the selfie camera appear fuzzy or video quality is poor.
  • The damaged front camera may also cause focusing issues.

Step 1 | Prepare your phone for disassembly

A fully charged lithium-ion battery can be hazardous, so let it drain to 25% or less.

  • Power off the phone completely by pressing and holding the power button.
  • Remove all cables from the device, including power and data connectors.

Step 2 | Heat the bottom edge

Apply heat to soften the mild adhesive securing the back cover.

  • Heat an iOpener on the bottom edge of the back cover for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to apply even heat and soften the adhesive.

Step 3 | Apply a suction handle

Position the suction handle directly above the lower center point on the back cover.

Step 4 | Insert an opening pick

Apply steady force to the suction handle until a gap opens.

  • Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap.

Step 5 | Adhesive information

Avoid damaging the wireless charging coil and interconnect cable by keeping your pick depth below 3mm.

  • Use this picture as a reference while separating the adhesive from the back cover frame.
  • Separate the left edge adhesive first, keeping the pick depth to 3mm or less.
  • Repeat on the right edge, maintaining the same pick depth.

Step 6 | Separate the adhesive

Apply additional heat if struggling to separate the adhesive.

  • Run the opening pick along the bottom edge of the device to pry apart the adhesive holding the back cover.

Slide the pick around the entire perimeter of the back cover to separate remaining adhesive.

  • Avoid inserting the pick too far under the long left and right edges.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

Remove the back cover.

Check perimeter for adhesive residue and use opening pick to separate before proceeding if necessary.

  • Power on phone and test functions during reassembly.
  • Phone must be powered down completely before continuing.
  • Inspect rear cameras, wipe clean with lint-free cloth if smudged.
  • Apply new adhesive to either the back cover or the frame, aligning according to cutouts and contours.

Step 9 | Disconnect the wireless charging assembly

Locate the wireless charging assembly press connector at its top edge and use the point of a spudger to pry it loose.

  • If needed, switch to using the tip of an opening pick.

Step 10 | Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly screws

Label each removed screw for reassembly.

  • Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 11 2.8 mm screws securing the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly.

Step 11 | Pry up the loudspeaker

Remove the wireless charging coil assembly with the loudspeaker attached.

  • Use angled tweezers to unclip the loudspeaker from the notch on its left edge.

Apply even pressure around the perimeter of the loudspeaker during reassembly to avoid damaging its clips.

Step 12 | Remove the wireless charging assembly

Use both hands to carefully lift and remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly.

Step 13 | Disconnect the battery

Pry only at the gold arrow locations, as prying at the wrong spot may damage surface-mounted components.

  • Use the tip of a spudger to pry up and disconnect the battery press connector.

Step 14 | Disconnect the earpiece speaker

Use the pointed tip of a spudger to carefully pry up and disconnect the earpiece speaker press connector.

Step 15 | Remove the earpiece speaker screws

Remove the earpiece speaker using a Phillips screwdriver.

  • There are five 2.8 mm-long screws to remove.

Step 16 | Pry up the earpiece speaker

Remove the earpiece speaker by prying it loose with a flat spudger at the bottom center edge.

  • Press down firmly along the edges of the earpiece speaker during reassembly to secure its clips.

Remove the earpiece speaker.

Step 18 | Disconnect the front camera

Insert the pointed end of a spudger under the front camera press connector.

Careful not to damage the surrounding area or the connector itself.

Gently pry up and disconnect the press connector.

Step 19 | Heat the front camera

Apply heat to loosen the front camera's adhesive.

  • Lay a heated iOpener on the front camera for two minutes to soften its epoxy-like adhesive.
  • Or, use a hair dryer or heat gun to lightly heat the camera.

Step 20 | Pry up the front camera

  • Insert the flat end of a spudger into the gap between the front camera and its surrounding housing.
  • Pry upward on both the left and right sides of the front camera to release the adhesive completely.

Step 21 | Remove the front camera

Remove the front camera using your fingers or a pair of tweezers.
