Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge 5G mmWave Antenna Replacement

If your phone has cellular connectivity issues but still connects to Wi-Fi, replace the 5G mmWave antenna as per this guide.

  • You will need a replacement back cover adhesive for this repair.

Step 1 | Prepare your phone for disassembly

Let the phone's battery drain to at least 25% before proceeding.

  • Power off the phone completely.
  • Unplug all connected cables.

Step 2 | Heat the bottom edge

Remove the back cover by softening the mild adhesive.

  • Avoid direct contact with heat sources — risk of damage.

  • Lay a preheated iOpener on the bottom edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to heat the cover.

Step 3 | Apply a suction handle

Position the suction handle approximately 1 inch from the bottom edge of the back cover.

Step 4 | Insert an opening pick

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force.
  • A gap will form between the cover and .
  • Insert the tip of an opening pick into the gap.

Step 5 | Adhesive information

Examine the back cover's adhesive perimeter using the provided reference image.

  • To detach the adhesive from the frame, use a pick.
  • When separating left and right edge adhesives, limit pick insertion to 3 mm to avoid damaging the wireless charging coil and interconnect cable.

Step 6 | Separate the adhesive

Apply additional heat if adhesive is stubborn.

  • Use the opening pick to slide along the bottom edge of the device.
  • Continue to separate the adhesive securing the back cover.

Slide your pick along the back cover's perimeter, separating remaining adhesive.

  • Avoid inserting the pick deeply into the left and right edge areas.

Step 8 | Remove the back cover

Remove the back cover.

Check for remaining adhesive around the perimeter and separate with a pick if needed.

  • Power on your phone and test functions during reassembly to ensure everything works as expected.
  • Turn off your phone completely before continuing work.
  • Inspect rear cameras for smudges and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

Apply replacement adhesive to either the frame or back cover, aligning according to cutouts and contours. Follow guide specific to chosen application area.

Step 9 | Disconnect the wireless charging assembly

Insert the spudger's point into the gap between the wireless charging assembly and the press connector.

  • Pry up on the press connector from its top edge to release it.
  • If necessary, switch to an opening pick for better leverage.

Step 10 | Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly screws

Keep track of all screws and ensure they are replaced in their original positions.

  • Remove the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • The assembly is secured by eleven 2.8 mm screws.

Step 11 | Pry up the loudspeaker

Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker as one assembly to prevent damage.

  • Use angled tweezers to unclip the loudspeaker at the notch on its left edge.

When reassembling, press down firmly around the perimeter of the loudspeaker to engage its clips securely.

Step 12 | Remove the wireless charging assembly

Lift the wireless charging and loudspeaker assembly with both hands.

Be careful not to drop or damage the assembly during removal.

Step 13 | Disconnect the battery

Pry-nudging without locating the gold arrow can damage delicate components.

  • Identify the corresponding gold arrow on the board for each press connector.
  • Use a spudger point to carefully pry up and disconnect each battery press connector.

Step 14 | Disconnect the 5G mmWave antenna

Insert the pointed end of the spudger into the press connector and carefully pry it open.

  • The 5G mmWave antenna will be released, allowing you to access the surrounding area.

Step 15 | Remove the 5G mmWave antenna screw

Remove the Phillips screw securing the 5G mmWave antenna with a Phillips screwdriver.

  • The screw is approximately 2.5 mm long

Step 16 | Remove the 5G mmWave antenna

Insert the point of a spudger under the bottom edge of the 5G mmWave antenna.

Lift gently with the spudger until you can grasp the 5G mmWave antenna with your fingers.

Lift the 5G mmWave antenna out of its recess and remove it.
