If the battery is swollen, take necessary precautions to avoid damage or injury.

Disconnect all cables from your phone.

  • Hold down the side key and the volume down button.
  • Select "Power off" to turn off your phone.

Step 2 | Heat the right edge

Step 2 image

Avoid overheating the phone's display and internal battery.

Apply a suction handle to the back cover near the right edge.

Use strong, steady force when pulling up on the suction handle — risk of damaging the cover.

  • Continue to pull up until a gap forms between the cover and frame.
  • If needed, apply more heat following iOpener guidelines to soften adhesive.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
