Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Earpiece Speaker Replacement

This repair guide is for replacing the earpiece speaker on a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra device.

Step 1 | Prepare your phone for disassembly

Never discharge phone's battery below 25% for a safe disassembly.

  • Check if the battery is swollen; take necessary precautions if so.
  • Disconnect all cables from the phone.
  • Hold the side key and volume down button, then select "Power off" to shut down the device.

Step 2 | Heat the right edge

Apply iOpener to the right edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
  • Avoid overheating, as this can damage the display and internal battery.

Step 3 | Insert an opening pick

  • Attach a suction handle to the back cover near its right edge.
  • Pull up on the suction handle firmly to separate the cover from the frame.
  • Excessive heat may damage components; follow iOpener guidelines to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 4 | Separate the right adhesive

Slide the pick back and forth along the right edge of the device.

Do not remove the pick — it must remain inserted near the bottom right corner to prevent reseal.

Step 5 | Heat the bottom edge

Apply heat to the bottom edge of the back cover with a heated iOpener for two minutes.

Step 6 | Separate the bottom adhesive

Insert another opening pick alongside the first one, near the lower right edge.

  • Rotate the second pick around the bottom right corner to loosen the adhesive.

  • Slide a pick along the device's bottom edge to break the adhesive seal.
  • Leave the pick in place, near the bottom left corner, to prevent re-adhesion.

Step 8 | Heat the left edge

Apply a heated iOpener to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

Step 9 | Separate the left adhesive

Insert a third opening pick beside the second one, near the left side of the bottom edge.

  • Rotate the opening pick around the bottom left corner to break the adhesive seal.

Insert opening pick too far (more than 4mm) and risk damaging the antenna cable.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge, stopping before the power button.
  • Leave the pick in place near the power button to prevent resealing.

Step 11 | Heat the top edge

Place a iOpener along the top edge of the back cover and apply heat for 2 minutes.

Step 12 | Separate the top adhesive

Insert an opening pick into the gap at the top of the right edge.

  • Rotate the opening pick around the top right corner to loosen the adhesive.

Insert the pick no deeper than 4mm to prevent damage to nearby components.

  • Slide the pick along the top edge, using it to separate the adhesive.

Step 14 | Separate the remaining adhesive

Locate the top left corner of the device.

  • Insert a pick at the corner, working down the left edge to release any remaining adhesive.
  • Avoid inserting the pick more than 4 mm deep to prevent potential damage to the cameras.

Step 15 | Remove the back cover

Grab and remove the back cover.

Adhesive may have resealed; use an opening pick to separate.

  • Power on your phone and test functions before sealing.
  • Ensure phone is powered down completely before continuing.
  • Tweezers or fingers: remove adhesive chunks; apply heat if needed.
  • If using custom-cut adhesives, refer to the guide for instructions.
  • For double-sided tape, follow the provided guide.

Step 16 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Use a spudger to carefully pry up and disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.

Only pry in the location indicated by the arrow printed near each press connector on the board, as prying elsewhere may damage surface-mounted components.

  • Reconnect the press connector by aligning it carefully over its socket and gently pressing down with your fingertip-first on one side, then the other until it clicks into place.
  • If the connector doesn't click in place, reposition it and try again without forcing it, as this may damage the connector or surrounding components.

Step 17 | Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker screws

  • Remove the four screws securing the wireless charging coil using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Next, remove the six screws securing the loudspeaker using the same Phillips screwdriver.

Step 18 | Separate the coil adhesive

Use a spudger to carefully pry up a corner of the tab on the wireless charging coil, located along the right edge of the frame.

Use an opening pick to pry the tab away from its surrounding frame.

Step 20 | Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker

Locate the engraved arrow on the loudspeaker

  • Insert the point of a spudger into the gap indicated by the arrow.
  • Pry up gently to unclip the loudspeaker from its mounting frame.

Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker from the frame.

  • Press around the edges of the loudspeaker during reassembly to clip it into place.
  • Reinsert the screws after securing the loudspeaker.

Step 22 | Disconnect the battery

Use a spudger to carefully release the battery press connector.

Step 23 | Disconnect the earpiece speaker

Disconnect the earpiece speaker press connector using a spudger.

Step 24 | Remove the earpiece speaker screws

Remove the five 3.5 mm screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 25 | Remove the earpiece speaker

  • Insert a spudger under the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker, aligning with the engraved arrow.
  • Pry up to unclip the speaker.

Take extra care not to damage the earpiece speaker during removal and reassembly.

  • During reassembly, insert the top edge of the earpiece speaker into the frame first.
  • Press down gently while aligning it with the surrounding frame before clipping it back in securely.
