The following instructions are for upgrading or replacing the rear camera units on a Samsung Galaxy S24+. If multiple camera lenses need replacement, repeat the process as necessary.
A fully charged lithium-ion battery may pose a safety risk.
Allow the phone's battery to drain below 25% before repair.
If the battery is swollen, exercise caution when handling it.
Apply a heated iOpener to the right edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Risk of display and battery damage if not careful with heat application.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover near the center of the right edge.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Slide a pick back and forth along the right edge of the device.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Insert an opening pick into the bottom right corner and rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Apply a iOpener with heat to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Insert the opening pick at the bottom left corner and rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Apply iOpener to the top edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.
Hold the opening pick vertically and rotate it slowly around the top left corner of the device.
Locate a square of adhesive near the rear microphone, above the flash.
Remove the back cover.
Use an opening pick to separate any resealed adhesive if the back cover doesn't lift easily.
Retaining water resistance depends on proper adhesive reapplication; the device will lose its IP rating.
Follow this guide for custom-cut adhesives.
Use a spudger to carefully pry up the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.
Do not touch the prying location indicated by the arrow on the board directly with your spudger - use it as a guide instead.
Remove the Phillips screwdriver to access the screws.
Insert the spudger into the notch at the top left corner of the loudspeaker, marked by an arrow.
Use your fingers to lift the loudspeaker away from the frame.
Disengage the battery press connector using a spudger.
Disconnect the interconnect cable press connectors from the daughterboard using a spudger.
Remove all interconnect cables from the phone.
Use a spudger to carefully release the earpiece speaker press connector.
Remove the earpiece speaker using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of a spudger between the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker and the metal plate on the motherboard.
During reassembly, be careful not to damage the earpiece speaker's wires.
Insert the top edge of the earpiece speaker into the frame first before pressing down and clipping it back in.
Locate the upper antenna press connector.
Locate the front camera press connector's bottom right corner.
Avoid inserting the spudger elsewhere to prevent damage to surface-mounted components.
Use a spudger to gently pry up and release the display and lower antenna cable press connectors.
Remove the screws secured to the motherboard using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of a spudger between the top edge of the motherboard and the phone frame in the earpiece speaker cutout.
When reassembling, ensure all cables are clear before installing the motherboard back into the phone frame.
Remove the cameras in this order: ultrawide, main, telephoto.
Use a spudger to carefully pry up and disconnect the ultrawide camera press connector
.
Locate the ultrawide camera and its connection points to the motherboard.
Gently slide the two metal pegs out of their holes in the motherboard.
Be careful not to damage the main camera press connector.
Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the telephoto camera press connector.
Note that the telephoto camera is installed at the bottom.
During reassembly, install rear cameras in this order:
