This repair guide is for replacing the motherboard in a Samsung Galaxy S24+ device.
A charged lithium-ion battery can be a safety hazard, drain it below 25% if possible.
Apply heat to the right edge of the back cover using an iOpener for two minutes.
Avoid overheating the phone, as the display and internal battery can be damaged.
Apply a suction handle to the back cover, centered on the right edge.
If trouble persists, apply more heat as needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Slide the pick back and forth along the right edge of the device to release the adhesive.
Apply a iOpener to the bottom edge of the back cover and heat it for 2 minutes.
Insert the opening pick into the bottom right corner and rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Leave the pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Apply heat to the iOpener and attach it to the left edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.
Hold the opening pick vertically at the bottom left corner of the device and rotate it slowly.
Leave the pick near the top left corner to prevent re-adhesion.
Apply heat from an iOpener to the top edge of the back cover for two minutes.
Insert the opening pick into the top left corner and rotate it to loosen the adhesive.
Insert a fourth opening pick into the top left corner.
Locate a square of adhesive surrounding the rear microphone, situated just above the flash.
Gently pry the cover downwards while sliding the pick towards the bottom, working the adhesive loose.
Remove the back cover by hand.
Retaining water resistance will depend on proper back cover adhesive reapplication. Note that your device's IP rating will be lost in the process.
If using custom-cut adhesives, follow the provided guide.
Locate the wireless charging coil press connector on the motherboard.
Be careful not to damage the motherboard or wireless charging coil.
Remove the thirteen Phillips screws, six securing the wireless charging coil and seven securing the loudspeaker.
Position the spudger in the notch marked by an arrow on the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
Disconnect the battery press connector using a spudger.
Disconnect both interconnect cable press connectors using a spudger.
Remove the interconnect cables by gently grabbing them and pulling them out.
Use a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the earpiece speaker press connector.
Remove the earpiece speaker with a Phillips screwdriver. The screws are 5 in total, each 3.5mm long.
Be careful not to damage the earpiece speaker or frame during removal.
Avoid inserting the spudger in other areas to prevent damage to surface-mounted components.
Insert the tip of a spudger into the bottom right corner of the front camera press connector.
Disconnect the display and lower antenna cable press connectors from the motherboard using a spudger.
Remove the motherboard screws using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the flat end of a spudger between the top edge of the motherboard and the phone frame, in the earpiece speaker cutout.
Cable damage risk during reassembly. Ensure cables are clear before placing motherboard back into the frame.
Remove the ultrawide, then main, and finally telephoto rear cameras in that order.
Take note: The ultrawide camera is positioned at the top when installed.
Slide the ultrawide camera out by releasing the two metal pegs from their holes on the motherboard.
Locate the main camera situated in the center of the device.
Careful not to damage the motherboard or cables.
Failure to install cameras in correct order may result in improper alignment.
The motherboard is ready to be replaced.
