Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus Earpiece Speaker Replacement

This guide will help you replace the earpiece speaker in your Samsung Galaxy S24+

Step 1 | Prepare your phone for disassembly

A charged lithium-ion battery may pose a safety risk.

  • Allow your phone's battery to drain below 25% charge.

If the battery is swollen, take necessary precautions when handling it.

  • Unplug all cables from your phone.
  • Press and hold the side key and volume down button simultaneously.
  • Select "Power off" to shut down your phone.

Step 2 | Heat the right edge

Excessive heat can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

  • Apply a heated iOpener, or use a hair dryer/heat gun/hot plate, for 2 minutes to loosen the right edge of the back cover.
  • Exercise caution to avoid overheating the phone.

Step 3 | Insert an opening pick

Apply a suction handle near the center of the right edge.

  • Pull up on the suction handle with strong, steady force to create a gap between the cover and frame.
  • If needed, apply more heat using the iOpener, following its instructions carefully to avoid overheating.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 4 | Separate the right adhesive

Slide a pick back and forth along the right edge to separate the adhesive.

Leave the pick inserted near the bottom right corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing, or risk it reforming.

Step 5 | Heat the bottom edge

Apply heat from an iOpener to the lower edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

Step 6 | Separate the corner adhesive

Use the opening pick to pry up the adhesive at the bottom right corner.

Insert a second pick at the bottom right corner.

  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom left corner to separate the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in the bottom left corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 8 | Heat the left edge

Apply iOpener to the left edge of the back cover and heat for 2 minutes.

Step 9 | Separate the corner adhesive

Insert the opening pick at the bottom left corner and rotate it slowly to pry apart the device.

Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.

  • Slide the pick toward the top left corner to separate the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick near the top left corner to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 11 | Heat the top edge

Apply heat from an iOpener to the top edge of the back cover for 2 minutes.

Step 12 | Separate the corner adhesive

Insert the opening pick into the top left corner, rotating it as you go.

  • The goal is to break down the adhesive and create separation between the display and the case.

Step 13 | Separate the top adhesive

Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner.

  • Slide the pick toward the top right corner to separate the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick near the top right corner to prevent resealing.

Step 14 | Separate the rear mic adhesive

Locate the square of adhesive above the flash.

  • Line up an opening pick with the flash.
  • Slide the pick under the top of the back cover, snagging on the adhesive.
  • Lift the cover while sliding the pick toward the bottom until it's free from the adhesive.

Step 15 | Remove the back cover

Remove the back cover.

If not lifting easily, use an opening pick to separate reformed adhesive.

  • Power on and test phone functions before reassembling.
  • Ensure phone is completely powered down before continuing.

Reapply back cover adhesive carefully to maintain water resistance.

Removing all adhesive required, use tweezers or fingers for removal.

Use heat, isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater), and lint-free cloth if necessary.

Step 16 | Disconnect the wireless charging coil

Locate the wireless charging coil press connector on the motherboard.

  • Pry up the press connector using a spudger at the recommended location indicated by an arrow printed near each connector.
  • Disconnect the press connector from the motherboard.

Do not force the press connector into place, as this may cause damage. If trouble occurs, reposition and try again.

  • To reconnect:
  • Air Gap Pliers (or a similar tool): Not Required
    • Align the press connector carefully over its socket.
    • Press down gently with your fingertip on one side, then the other until it clicks into place.

Step 17 | Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker screws

  • Remove the 6 Phillips screws holding the wireless charging coil in place.
  • Remove the 7 Phillips screws holding the loudspeaker in place.

Step 18 | Remove the wireless charging coil and loudspeaker

  • Insert the point of a spudger into the notch marked by an arrow at the top left corner of the loudspeaker.
  • Pry up to unclip the loudspeaker from its frame.

Use your fingers to gently lift the loudspeaker away from the frame.

  • Remove the wireless charging coil from the frame.
  • Remove the loudspeaker from the frame as well.

Press around the edges of the loudspeaker to clip it in place before reinserting the screws.

Step 20 | Disconnect the battery

Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the battery press connector.

Step 21 | Disconnect the earpiece speaker

Use a spudger to gently pry up and release the earpiece speaker press connector.

Step 22 | Remove the earpiece speaker screws

Remove the earpiece speaker by unscrewing its five 3.5mm screws using a Phillips screwdriver.

Insert the flat end of a spudger between the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker and the metal plate on the motherboard.

  • Twist the spudger to unclip the earpiece speaker from the frame.
  • Remove the earpiece speaker.
    • During reassembly, insert the top edge of the earpiece speaker into the frame first.
    • Press down and clip it back in place.
